Chow Chow Kootu

 


 

Ingredients

Coconut      1/2 cup 
Ginger        1 inch
Garlic         4 cloves
Anise          1 tbsp
Almonds    6

Chow Chow      1
Onion                1
Tomato              1
Chenna dal        2 tbsp
Oil                     2 tbsp
Sambar pdr       1 tsp
Turmeric           1/4 tsp
Salt                    as required

Method
                                    

                                           

 

  • In a cooker add 2 tbsp chenna dal and 2 cups of water. Let it boil.
  • Meanwhile, chop all the vegetables (chow chow, onion, tomato)  
  • In a non-stick add oil and the chopped onion, tomato and cook them until soft, Then add chow chow into it and sauté, and let it cook.
  • Then in the cooker, if the water is low, add 1 cup water and add the cooked onion, tomato, chow chow.
  • And to it add turmeric, salt, sambar pdr. Mix well. 
  • Then blend coconut, ginger, garlic, anise and almonds. And add it to the mixture in the cooker.
  • then close the cooker until 3 whistle.
